Canyon Lake, TX and the surrounding areas of Comal County have fewer foreclosures than many other areas, however, there are more now than at the beginning of the real estate down market.
Often foreclosures are not as good a bargain as some of the open market properties for sale. Foreclosure homes are usually those that more was owed on than they could sell it at market price, and/or there was something wrong with the home enabling it to sell on the open market.
For example foreclosure sales may be a large home in a smaller home neighborhood, or next to unsightly other properties or commercial area. Or they may have major defects. In Summary be sure to get a complete list of properties for sale in today's market, there are a lot of bargains and with interest rates at record low, buying one of these could be a very smart investment.
